Top Rank promoter Bob Arum in surverying the heavyweight landscape for Tyson Fury’s next appearance, now that he’s completely settled his business with Deontay Wilder. And looking ahead to what might be in store for Fury, Arum says Fury will ultimately make the decision on whom he’ll face but that both Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce would be solid options for a U.K. homecoming.
“Who Fury fights next will be determined by Fury,” Top Rank’s Arum, who promotes the WBC champion in the US, told Sky Sports. “If the fight is in the UK, I would think Whyte would be a good possibility, as well as Joyce.”
Whyte, as we all know, recently pulled out of a WBC ordered fight against Otto Wallin and is now looking to go straight towards a Fury fight as its reigning interim champion. Of course while Arum likes a Fury-Whyte fight, he too is awaiting clarification from the WBC about how they’ll handle the Whyte situation, and whether or not he’ll even be available to face Fury in the spring.
At this time Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren is said to be making a trip to Manchester to meet with Fury to discuss his next fight date, but Arum expects it to come no later than April 2022.
