Caio Terra on PEDs use in BJJ

Two-time world champion and ten-time NoGi world champion, Caio Terra, is one of the most famous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world.

The 35-year-old is notorious for his leading role in the fight against PEDs in BJJ.

After winning the 2011 Pan championship, Caio Terra became the Pan rooster weight champion after having beaten Bruno Malfacine in the final in a very close fight.

After the final a very happy Caio then revealed that he was the first to get tested for PEDs which is ironic since he was the one lobbying for PED testing in Jiu-Jitsu for the past few years. A total of 10 random black belt medallist comprised of men and women were tested right after their finals.

Ten years later, he’s still campaigning hard for increased testing in Jiu-Jitsu and he believes that despite his best efforts, the problem has actually gotten worse since he first started speaking out about it.
