The 35 edition of the Pan American Senior Karate Championships will be held in Curacao from May 26 to 28.
The Curacao World Trade Centre in Willemstad will welcome the best Karate athletes in the continent in an anticipated event. The new kings and queens of the sport in the Americas will be crowned over three thrilling competition days.
The last edition of the continental championships was held last year in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Nearly 300 competitors from 23 countries participated at the event, with Brazil topping the final medal table with a tally of 13 medals including 4 golds. The United States and Chile also registered deserving performances with 12 and 10 medals respectively.
Olympians and USA Kata heroes Sakura Kokumai and Ariel Torres, three-time World champion Douglas Brose of Brazil, and experienced top karatekas Rodrigo Rojas of Chile and Haya Jumaa of Canada were among the big winners of the event last year.
