Love him or hate, you have to respect and admire the work and the success Conor McGregor has had inside the Octagon. The Irish superstar is without a doubt, one of the most elite MMA fighters the world has ever seen and there is no denying that one day he’ll end up in the UFC Hall of Fame.
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion took the world of mixed martial arts by storm, defeating the top guys and creating a legacy that won’t be matched any time soon.
Having in mind all of that, it’s not a brainer why UFC President Dana White loves “The Notorious” so much. Even though the 30-year-old southpaw has only 1 fight for the last three years, he still one of the most loved guys by the fans. And by White, too.
Conor’s trash talking is a big part of his fighting and according to Dana White, it’s not a shock for him when he sees all the young guys in the company who are trying to mimic the Irish.
“It happens,” the prez told Hashtag Sports this week.
“When you see a guy who’s as successful as he is and he’s fun, I mean you see the guy’s fun and everything else, and you start thinking ‘well maybe if I act like this, I’ll have what he has’.”
“There’s only one Conor McGregor,” White continued.
“People will always ask me ‘do you think you’ll ever find another Conor McGregor, are you trying to find another Conor McGregor?’
“There will never be another Conor McGregor, but there will be somebody else who’s different in their own way and will become a star in their own way.”
