Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce likely to be postponed again

According to promoter Frank Warren, a heavyweight fight between Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois is more than likely to be pushed back from it’s targeted October 24th date. Warren reportedly wants (or probably needs) fans in attendance for this fight at London’s O2 Arena, which hasn’t been the case ever since the coronavirus swept the globe.

“It’s looking like we will move it,. I don’t think there will be any live gates allowed into the O2 on that October date, so we will move it to a later date.”

Warren continued by saying that some notable fights aren’t viable to be made even with a reduced capacity of fans, but still says he’s a bit on the fence because the fighters really want to get in the ring and settle their business.

“If we knew we could get a crowd, we would move it back further, but it’s also what the fighters want to do. It’s a moving target, that’s the problem, and we’re all adjusting.”

Joyce, 34, last fought in July, stopping Michael Wallisch is three rounds of action. Meanwhile Dubois, 23, won a second round stoppage over Ricardo Snijders in late August. With a win for either fighter, they’ll surely be looking to work their way towards title contention in the near future.
