Top-tier middleweights Darren Till and Jack Hermansson are expected to headline a UFC Fight Night event slated for Dec. 5.
Multiple people confirmed to MMA Fighting the upcoming matchup, which is expected to be finalized after Till is medically cleared to compete. ESPN.com first reported the booking.
U.K. star Till suffered a serious knee injury in a loss to ex-champ Robert Whittaker this past month on Fight Island. A torn MCL was expected to keep him in a cast for six weeks.
Till and Whittaker dueled over five rounds in a fight with middleweight title implications. Whittaker’s varied attack won the day, and he’s expected to meet contender Jared Cannonier in a likely title eliminator.
Hermansson recently rebounded from a loss to Cannonier with a quick submission of one-time title challenger Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Island 2. The Swedish fighter is 5-1 in his past six fights and has picked up five of his UFC wins in the first round.
As of now, no other fights have been confirmed for the Dec. 5 card, and a location and venue also remain TBA.
