British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said that one of his goals for 2021 is to organize a unification middleweight bout between Gennady Golovkin and Demetrius Andrade.
A fight like this makes a lot of sense for both men who are world champions in the middleweight division. The 38-year-old Kazakh is the IBF king, while the 32-year-old American is the WBO champ.
Both “GGG” and “Boo Boo” are under contracts with DAZN and that makes the fight way easier to be done. Golovkin and Andrade are in need of a serious fight that will bring a huge amount of fans to the clash.
They both fell short in chasing Canelo Alvarez in 2021, as the Mexican chose to fight Callum Smith.
The last time Golovikn was inside the ring was a couple of weeks back when he defeated Kamil Szeremeta via KO. Andrade was last seen back in January 2020, when he TKO’d Luke Keeler.
