Emanuel Navarrete stops Uriel Lopez by sixth-round TKO

WBO junior featherweight titleholder Emanuel Navarrete defeated Uriel Lopez inside six rounds in a non-title fight last night in Mexico City.

Top Rank held its fourth fight night in the last two weeks since the return of boxing in North America.

Mexico’s Navarrete (32-1) slowly built momentum and eventually started to overpower Lopez (13-13-1) in the fourth round, alternating between the orthodox and southpaw stance.

Navarrete, who won his sixth consecutive fight by stoppage, landed punches from all directions. Lopez, who had gone the distance in his previous three fights, was trying hard to stay in there, but he was no match for the flurry of punches that started coming his way.
