We’re just days away from the 10th edition of SENSHI fight night. The highly anticipated event will be taking place this Saturday night in Varna, Bulgaria.
SENSHI 10 will produce a total of 10 fights that will be conducted under the KWU SENSHI and the KWU Full Contact rules. As usual, the bouts will be refereed by three of the biggest kickboxing legends – Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost and Peter Aerts.
The trio is a regular when it comes to SENSHI, as they will also be leading a KWU International Professional League seminar that will be taking place from Friday to Saturday. The seminar will be taking place in Varna, with one of the best Bulgarian and foreign fighters being a part of it.
“Mr. Perfect” will once again be a special guest referee with his fellow countrymen. Recently, Hoost gave a interview for www.sherdog.com where he talks about what is like being the third man inside the ring and what’s so special in the SENSHI fight nights.
“The referee should always be keen on whats happening. Basically, you have to protect the fighters from serious injuries. For example, if a fighter is down, I’m gonna check his eyes before I give him an 8 count. If his eyes are not in the right place, I will stop the fight.
“SENSHI allows elbow shots. Me myself, I’ve done fights with elbows in the ’90s. The elbow strike is a dangerous one and me personally, I’m not a big fan of it.
“What I love about SENSHI is the crowd. I like the stadium, the fighters and fights are on a good level. The whole entourage, everything about it, it’s just, yeah, I didn’t see anything negative. I didn’t see any negativity, all looked positive to me. I like the fact that there are ambulances outside for when something happens, a fighter can be brought to the hospital right away. It’s well thought out.
“I think the event is growing and growing and getting better and better. I’m even getting asked by fighters or by promoters if a fighter can fight in Senshi. Even ‘Kancho’ Ishii from K-1 asked me, ‘Can I let the fighter fight at that event?’ That means that something good is happening.”
The fight show will be broadcast live by the US platform FITE and online at Senshi.com, Boec.bg, Boec.com, Kwunion.com and Kyokushinkarate.news.
