The three legendary fighters Peter Aerts, Semmy Schilt and Ernesto Hoost held their first training session for the KWU International Summer Camp 2021 in vintage fashion.
The 11-time K-1 champions in the heavyweight division will once again be head instructors of the sessions that are part of the KWU International Professional League. Over 200 participants from more than 10 countries took part in their first session.
As always the Holy Trinity of K-1 split the fighters in three groups which will be switched between them in every session.
The 3x K-1 Heavyweight Champion Peter Aerts was accompanied by his daughter Montana and his son Nico in his teaching. “The Dutch Lumberjack” put emphasis on the correct movement and distance management during the fight. He made the fighters dive into footwork drills and ring-movement drills.
The 4x K-1 Heavyweight Champions Semmy Schilt and Ernesto Hoost put emphasis on different aspects of the game. Schilt wanted to introduce the pro fighters to some methods of partnering and better training drills, so both athletes can progress during drills. Ernesto Hoost showed some tips and techniques in the close-distance game with hooks, uppercuts, knees and elbows. His group also worked on some finishing combinations.
