Raul Catinas recently joined the GLORY heavyweight division. The kickboxing promotion caught up with Raul who shared personal insights about his life and professional career.
Here it is the whole interview with the Romanian:
How did you get into kickboxing?
I played football from the age of 8 to 16 years old. My football coach told me I should try another sport because I was too strong for football so I got into kickboxing!
Where do you train at?
I train at ARJ Trainingen with Mike Polanen.
How would you describe yourself as a fighter?
I fight like a lion. I always follow my instincts and try to go for the KO.
How would you describe yourself as a person?
I’m a good guy but with bad intentions for this division.
What is your favourite weapon to use in the ring?
I think everyone who has seen me fighting in the past knows that I punch harder than most.
Who is your greatest inspiration in life for martial arts?
Mike Tyson.
How does it feel to be back after a four-year break?
I feel good and motivated. Everything in life happens for a reason so I’m confident my time has come to rock the world.
What’s the difference between you and other GLORY fighters?
I punch hard, I have a strong chin and the heart of a lion. I’m hungry and I am going to take what is mine.
Who is your dream matchup?
I have a lot of respect for all fighters, but I came to GLORY for Badr and Rico.
What do you want to be remembered as at the end of your career?
A legend who had the power to come back and become champion.
What are your hobbies outside of kickboxing?
I don’t have any hobbies. I am just enjoying life and waiting for my time to fight again.
Do you have a message to all the GLORY fans?
I will do whatever it takes to win all my fights by KO.
