International Seminar for SAMBO Coaches was held in Moscow

The first-ever International Seminar for SAMBO Coaches under the auspices of FIAS was held in Moscow. The event, which took place from 13 to 16 May, was attended by 20 specialists from Venezuela, China and various regions of Russia.

During the first three days, the trainers studied the theoretical part during lectures that took place online. FIAS Executive Director Sergey Tabakov and FIAS Sports Director Dmitry Maksimov, together with the participants, discussed a number of important topics.

SAMBO classification, systematics and terminology, SAMBO technique teaching methods, refereeing rules, FIAS database, sambist appearance, FIAS certification procedure, physical training of a sambist – these and other topics were covered in detail during the theoretical part.

The theory was consolidated in practice. On the final day of the seminar, the participants gathered at the SAMBO-70 Sports and Education Center of Moskomsport, where practical classes were held.

The specialists analyzed the key points of training: from the basics, including drill and safe fall technique, to the highest skill, with an analysis of the subtleties of performing techniques in the ground and standing, as well as the motivation of athletes.
