James Gallagher vs. Cal Ellenor rebooked for Bellator Milan on Oct. 3

The fourth time could be the the charm for James Gallagher and Cal Ellenor.

Officials announced via press release that Gallagher (10-1) and Ellenor (8-2) have been booked to fight one another once again at the upcoming Bellator Milan show on Oct. 3. The two were previously booked for Bellator 240 and Bellator London earlier this year, but Gallagher withdrew from the first date due to a back injury and the second meeting was postponed due to the May 16 show being canceled in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

They were first scheduled to fight at Bellator 227 back in September 2019, only to see that booking fall through because of an Ellenor injury.

Gallagher, 23, seeks his fourth consecutive win. “The Strabanimal” bounced back from his first career loss against Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 204 by scoring wins over Steven Graham, Jeremiah Labiano, and Roman Salazar.

Ellenor made a successful Bellator debut in Newcastle, England, in February of last year. He submitted Nathan Greyson by first-round rear-naked choke to pick up his third win in his previous four outings.

Also booked for Oct. 3 is a middleweight bout between Charlie Ward (8-4) and Andy Manzolo (23-8).

Bellator is resuming its European Series with two upcoming shows at Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy, on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. A third Milan show (not designated as a European Series entry) also takes place on Oct. 1, headlined by Paul Daley and Derek Anderson and set to be the first Bellator event to air live on CBS Sports.
