The international open tournament KWF Karate Grand Prix 2019 took place on March 24 in Tokyo, Japan. More than 700 fighters from 14 countries participated in the event fighting in 7 categories.
The Secretary-General of KWF Andrzej Drewniak conducted the opening ceremony. Shihan Yuichi Serizawa was the head referee. Among the special guests were: representative of KWF Russia – Shihan Sergey Soldatov, representative of KWF USA – Shihan Lesław Samitowski, representative of KWF Estonia – sensei Aleksei Korikov, representative of KWF Kazahstan – Shihan Mukhtar Juldassov, representative of KWF China – Shihan Noriyasu Hamai.
The home country of Japan monopolized the medals – claiming the gold in all the seven senior categories.
