John Kavanagh: Conor at his ‘best’ ahead of Cerrone fight

Conor McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh is putting his final touches of bulking the former two-division champion.

“The Notorious” is returning to the Octagon in two weeks when he faces Donald Cerrone in a welterweight clash at UFC 246 on January 18 in Las Vegas.

Fans may have noticed that this time around things in Conor’s camp are not going public or hyping the event. It’s quite the opposite – one or two pictures by the man himself and that’s it. Coach Kavanagh put some light on the preparations that are going on at McGregor’s camp and quelled any doubts that his fighter will be anything less than perfectly prepared to fight ‘Cowboy’ on January 18th.

“Jan 1st, last heavy spar today before going to Vegas,” Kavanagh wrote on Twitter.

“Can honestly say this is the best I’ve seen him and I wasn’t sure that was possible to do 6 months ago. You guys are in for a real treat, I’m just glad to have a good seat!”
