Joshua says sparring Tyson Fury will only aid in beating him later

With heavyweights Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua both expressing their mutual interest in sparring one another as Fury prepares to take on Deontay Wilder in February, Joshua tells Sky Sports that the experience he’ll gain from those spars will only help him to beat Fury when they finally meet down the line.

“With Fury, sparring him for the first time, maybe for my benefit I might go in there and just batter him around the ring or he might batter me around the ring.

”If that is the case, I know I can take my notes and go back when I’m ready to fight him and correct all my wrongs.”

Joshua would continue by saying that when he expresses his interest in sparring Fury, he’s not doing so haphazardly, but rather that he has a plan in mind just in case he does ever get the opportunity to fight him for real.

Whether or not Joshua actually shows up to Fury’s training camp remains to be seen, but assuming there’s no schedule conflicts Joshua reaffirms his willingness to help Fury bring the WBC world title belt to England.
