Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa vs. Tex Johnson Announced for Fight to Win 174

We are now less than a week away from Fight to Win 174 in Atlanta, GA, and the promotion has announced a match-up between two of the best grapplers in the world, as Atos representative Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa will square off with Aaron “Tex” Johnson. Also, two-division Fight to Win champion Amanda “Tubby” Alequin will take on Raquel Canuto.

A multiple-time IBJJF no-gi world champion and ADCC medalist, Lucas Barbosa has already had a relatively active competition year. Already this year he holds notable wins over Yuri Simoes, Gabriel Almeida, and Oliver Taza.

Tex Johnson is a longtime veteran of both the IBJJF and submission-only competition scene. A three-time no-gi Pans champion, has struggled lately with respectable losses to Kaynan Duarte and Victor Hugo.

Amanda Alequin is a 2016 no-gi world champion, and she is no stranger to the Fight to Win stage. She is coming off a fun title win over Gabi McComb. Raquel Canuto is also a no-gi world champion, and she’ll look to use her heavy guard passing to shut down Alequin’s scramble-heavy game.
