Russia ready to host Karate 1-Premier League event

The best karatekas in the world gather this weekend in Moscow (Russia) to compete in the sixth stop of the season of Karate 1-Premier League. As the quest to earn the Olympic qualification intensifies, the heroes of the sport hope to be crowned in another edition of Karate’s biggest series of international events. 

Nearly 700 competitors from 85 countries are registered to participate in the sixth stop of the season of Karate 1-Premier League. All the current Grand Winners and all the defending World champions will take part in the event in Moscow thus ensuring the outstanding level of the tournament. Japan presents the largest delegation with 56 athletes, followed by hosts of Russia with 30 karatekas and Spain and Italy with 28 competitors respectively.

Expectations are running high among the passionate Russian fan base. The enthusiasts of the sport from the European powerhouse nation are hoping to celebrate the success of their top competitors at home.

The competition starts on Friday, October 4 at 09:00 (local time). The tournament will continue until Sunday when the medal bouts will be celebrated.
