News from UK: Stadium audiences are back in October

Crowds could return to sports stadiums in the United Kingdom from October!

The News announcement was made by the country’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

Sports events have taken place without crowds in attendance since March because of the risk of spreading COVID-19.

“From October we intend to bring back audiences in stadiums”, reported Johnson.

For boxing, this is a welcome boost. Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions pushed back its BT Sport Box Office offering of a five-belt fight to October 24 recently and it now looks like a good decision.

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom has its Fight Camp series behind-closed doors, which is maybe a poor decision right now.

Boris Johnson has begun to introduce fans back into arenas can only be a plus for boxing and a plus for the fans who want to see the fights that can only be made courtesy of money brought in on the gate.
