Number one-ranked IBJJF competitor Fellipe Andrew faces Yuri Simoes at Fight To Win 185

A match-up of elite black belt competitors is scheduled for Fight To Win 185. Fellipe Andrew, the no. 1-ranked IBJJF gi black belt competitor, will take on two-time ADCC champion Yuri Simoes at the event which will take place on Friday, September 24 in Seattle, WA.

Fellipe Andrew has been on a tear in 2021, firmly establishing himself as not just the top-ranked IBJJF gi competitor, but also as one of the best overall grapplers in the world. The super heavyweight competitor represents Alliance San Diego, and has won American Nationals double gold and Pans double gold this year. Additionally, Andrew has competed twice this year on the Fight To Win stage, defeating first Max Gimenis and, most recently, Fellipe Trovo at Fight To Win 183.

Simoes might be Andrew’s toughest test this year. An excellent takedown artist, Simoes trains out of Caio Terra Academy. He was a 2015 and 2017 ADCC champion, and is a two-time double-gold medalist at the IBJJF no-gi Worlds. Simoes is no stranger to Fight To Win and submission-only competition; he most recently competed for the promotion at Fight To Win 172, defeating Unity BJJ’s Devhonte Johnson.
