An unification fight in the super featherweight division is currently being negotiated.
According to numerous rumours, Mexico’s Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson from the US will collide on April 30 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Valdez, 31, holds the WBC belt while Stevenson, 24, is the WBO ruler.
Shakur captured the title this last October when he defeated Jamel Herring via TKO in the 10th round.
Valdez hasn’t fought since September when he defeated Brazil’s Robson Conceicao after the judges gave him the UD win, but fight fans felt as this was one of the biggest robberies in recent time due to the fact Valdez got schooled and deserved to lose his title.
