WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is looking to get back in the ring in July, which would be a year since his last fight, a UD win over Keith Thurman, and it appears as though the Filipino icon may have moved on from the idea of fighting UFC’s Conor McGregor next.
The living legend made an appearance on a Filipino tv network where he discussed his future plans. “Pac-Man” stated that he has three options in front of him – Errol Spence, Mikey Garcia or Terence Crawford.
All three of those fights will be a must-see TV, but we’re pretty sure Errol Spence won’t be fighting Pacquiao next.
“The Truth” is still recovering from the car crash he was involved in last October and there is no info on his return date.
The 41-year-old Pacquiao added that there are backup plans with fighters from Mexico and Canada, but he didn’t drop any names.
It’s safe to say Mikey Garcia is the front-runner for now. The American-Mexican is fresh off of a victory over Jessie Vargas and he has stated on multiple occasions he’d really want to fight Manny Pacquiao. There are even rumors that the fight will be staged in Saudi Arabia.
Boxing fans would love to see Manny against Terence Crawford, but it’s pretty fair to say this won’t be happening any time soon. Ëven though “Bud” is a world champion and he’s recognized as one of the best boxers in the welterweight divisions, he is still struggling with finding elite adversaries.
