Pamplona replaces Salzburg as host of Karate 1-Series A

Scheduled to be held from January 28 to 30, the tournament moving now to Pamplona will inaugurate the season of Karate 1-Series A and it will be the first event of its kind to be celebrated since January 2020.

The change of venues from Salzburg to Pamplona occurs due to the deterioration of the health and sanitary conditions in Austria due to the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Following the update of the host city of the second event of the 2022 season, the Karate 1-Series A Salzburg tentatively moves now to April 1 to 3, 2022. The final date of the event will be confirmed at a later point depending on the development of the pandemic in Austria.

Located in the north of Spain and at 407 kilometres (253 miles) from the capital of Madrid, Pamplona is best known for the Running of the Bulls (Feast of San Fermín) in July.

With the celebration of the event in Pamplona, Spain go back to hosting a major Karate event after welcoming the Karate 1-Premier League in Madrid in 2019 and the Karate 1-Series A in Guadalajara in 2018, and in Toledo in 2017. Madrid also hosted the 2018 World Senior Championships.
