Povetkin hopes he will blast Whyte one more time

Former world heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin is one win away from challenging for the WBC belt.

On November 21 Russia’s top heavyweight will be facing once again Dillian Whyte. The pair already met back in August when Povetkin brutally KO’d the Brit in London.

Whyte got dropped in the fifth round after Povetkin landed a stunning left uppercut to the chin of “The Body Snatcher”.

Whyte, 32, exercised an immediate rematch clause and now the two are in training camp once again.

“I’m preparing in the same way as I did for the last fight with this opponent,” Povetkin said. “I’m going to England to win. Let’s see how the fight goes, but I’m only going in with the mindset to win. I will try to repeat the spectacular knockout over Whyte… physically and mentally, I’m ready for this.

“After the last fight, I didn’t feel anything special, I was just pleased. I’m glad that I stayed patient and brought it to an end.”
