Powerful take off for the karatekas at KWU Summer Camp in Kamchiya

The first day of the 16-th International Summer Camp organized by the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation and the Kyokushin World Union in Kamchiya is now in the history! After two hard training sessions the karatekas came back to their rooms exhausted, but inspired for and eager for the next day.
In the morning training session the karatekas were divided in groups by age. Each group was led by a well-established name in the sport. Both sessions were opened with speeches by the member of the board committee of KWU Shihan Andzhey Drevnyak. In the morning session he and Shihan Asen Asenov emphasised on how important it is that all fighters “sleep, train and eat only” at the camp, so they can get the max out of it. They also focused on their requirements for discipline and hierarchy during the camp.
The black belt fighters were divided by the other groups, so they can train in more specific methods. The instructors group was also separated by the other younger practitioners. The smallest ones had the privilage to train with their idols.
Some of the up-and-coming fighters from Bulgaria like Georgi Doychev and Deyan Bratkov also took the initiative to be instructors. The latest also partnered up with the Czech fighting celebrity Jan Sokoup in their instructor responsibilities. Both sessions were full of all kinds of exercises – flexibility, explosive power, shadow boxing, and partner drills for combinations and hardening of bones and knuckles. In the end of both sessions all practitioners were obliged to do some bodyweight exercises – push ups, squats, crunches and others.
In the fighters group of the highest level we saw some of the most exciting that have stepped in the ring of the professional fighting organization SENSHI – Sergey Braun, Nikolay Yorgov and Kristiyan Doychev. Braun and Yorgov are recovering from injuries, however, they gave their best in the training sessions and served as an example for all other fighters. The training sessions will continue in the same regime until the end of the week. The expectations are that even more fighters will take part in them.
