Rico Verhoeven wins ‘GLORY Collision’ Trilogy against Jamal Ben Saddik

Following Badr Hari’s recent defeats against Rico, Ben Saddik hoped to complete the trilogy in his favor and restore the image of Moroccan kickboxing.

Fez – Belgian-Moroccan heavyweight kickboxer, Jamal Ben Saddik, lost his “GLORY Collision 3” fight tonight against the Dutch champion, Rico Verhoeven.

The heavyweight match was a trilogy, after both men were tied at 1-1 from their two previous GLORY fights.

Rico and Ben Saddik each won a fight in the “Glory” competition, and so there was a need for a third fight to pronounce the winner. Another fight between the two was scheduled earlier this year, but it was canceled due to the Moroccan kicknboxer’s injury.

Saddik said earlier this week that he was “ready” to fight and beat Rico, known as the king of kickboxing.

Following Badr Hari’s recent defeats against Rico, Ben Saddik hoped to complete the trilogy in his favor and restore the image of Moroccan kickboxing after a triumph in 2011 and a defeat in 2017 against the Ducth champion.

Ben Saddik, also known as “the Goliath” among kickboxing fans, was the size of a giant adult guy as a teenager. The Moroccan-Belgian champion faced mature men in the ring long before he became a professional fighter. At the age of 21, he made his professional debut against Rico Verhoeven, whom he defeated by KO in the second round of their 2011 fight.

In 2017 Ben Saddik appeared to be on the verge of ending Rico Verhoeven’s GLORY 49 championship challenge, but Verhoeven fought back and forced a five-round which allowed him to avenge his 2011 defeat.
