A heavyweight showdown is about to headline the upcoming “UFC Fight Night 189” event that is set to take place on June 5.
Suriname’s Jairzinho Rozenstruik will be facing Brazil’s Augusto Sakai in what could very well be an unofficial title eliminator.
Sakai, 29, was supposed to be fighting on May 1 against Shamil Abdurakhimov, but visa issues led to his opponent having to withdraw from the bout and so now he’ll go up against Rozenstruik a month later.
The Brazilian hasn’t fought since September when he lost to Alistair Overeem via TKO in the fifth round.
Rozenstruik, 33, was last seen inside the Octagon in February 2021 when he lost to Cyril Gane via UD.
