Sergey Kovalev and Anthony Yarde make weight in Russia

Sergey Kovalev and Anthony Yarde are officially set for Saturday’s clash for the WBO light heavyweight title.

The Russian weighed in at 174.6 pounds and Yarde at 173.9. Both managed to be under the 175-pound limit.

It is the first defense of the title for 36-year-old Kovalev. His last fight was versus Eleider Alvarez on the 2th of February.

Yarde is unbeaten, but Kovalev represents an enormous step up in class for him.

Yarde’s best opposition to date has been the likes of Nikola Sjekloca, Tony Averlant, and Travis Reeves.
