Sofia will host the10th Balkan Kendo Cup

The capital of Bulgaria – Sofia will host the 10th annual Balkan Kendo Cup that will take place on April 5-7 in the “Arena Armeec” training hall. The first Balkan Cup was held back in 2007 in the city of Shumen when there were approximately 40 competitors representing 4 countries.

This year Bulgaria is once again the host nation, as this time there will be 140 participants from 8 countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, and Turkey.

The Balkan Kendo Cup is part of the calendar of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Bulgarian and Japanese bilateral relations. That’s why the Ambassador of Japan in Bulgaria – H.E. Masato Watanabe will be a special guest at the opening ceremony.
