The highly anticipated welterweight unification between the WBC and IBF world champion Errol Spence Jr. and the WBA king Yordenis Ugas will take place in the first quartet of 2022.
The fight was ordered by the IBF in the end of last year with both fighters and their managers negotiating a deal in the past couple of weeks.
As of this moment, there’s no info on the date and the venue of the clash, but according to sources the fight will be held in late March or early April.
Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs) will be fighting for the first time since beating the 42-year-old Manny Pacquiao last August in a shocking win in Las Vegas that resulted in the Filipino star retiring from the sport.
“We’re targeting March or April for the fight. It’s going to be for three titles,” Yordenis Ugas said to FOX Sports Boxing when asked what’s next for him in 2022. “That’s a fight that we want.
“We’re targeting the springtime for the match against Errol,” said Ugas.
