Andy Ruiz Jr has reviled his plan for the eventual Anthony Joshua rematch.
The IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion took the belts from the British star back on June the 1st and a second fight between them is in the making. The date is believed to be at the end of the year, but the two sides still can’t agree on the location. The Ruiz team wants the fight to take place in the US or Mexico, while the people behind AJ want a home court advantage in Great Britain.
“We are struggling to have it in the United States or take it to Mexico. That is what we want to do. The negotiations have not been that difficult. We want to be focused and prepared for the rematch. I do not want to lose the belts. I think he’s going to want to box a little [in the rematch], but with the preparation we’re going to do – we’re going to be pushing harder, throwing more punches and more combinations”, Ruiz said.
