UFC on ESPN 1 official weigh-ins (VIDEO)

The official weigh-ins for UFC on ESPN 1 are set and done, even though a few fighters were off the mark.

The main event of the evening is the heavyweight clash between Francis Ngannou (12-3) and Cain Velasquez (14-2) was left for last, but that wasn’t a problem for the experienced men.

Both guys looked in tremendous shape at their open workouts a couple of days ago. As we expected, the Frenchman is heavier than the American with almost 5 kilograms.

The 36-year-old Velasquez stepped on the scale at 112.5 kg after the two-and-a-half year break he had from the Octagon. His opponent, the 32-year-old  ‘Predator’ tipped the scale at 117 kg.

The co-main event’s fighters also did their job – James Vick weighted 70.5 kg to Paul Felder’s 70.2 kg for their lightweight rumble.

The three participants that couldn’t hit the marks were Manny Bermudez (bantamweight, 1.8 kg above the limit), Jessica Penne (strawweight, 0.9 kg above) and Renan Barao (bantamweight, 0.9 kg above).

Penne and Barao were each fined 20-percent of their respective fight purses, while Bermudez was fined 30-percent of his fight purse. All three bouts will remain on the schedule for Sunday’s event in Phoenix.
