UWW to decide on World Championships this week

The United World Wrestling will decide the fate of the upcoming World Championships this week (on October 8).

More than 50 countries have already declared that they are willing to send their wrestler to the competitions, but there are also federations that said they won’t be taking part in the events due to the travel restrictions and the coronavirs pandemic.

The junior and senior world championships are scheduled to take place in December in Belgrade, Serbia.

Earlier, the conditions under which the wrestling world championship would take place were stipulated: participation of at least 70 per cent of the total number of wrestlers who played at the last year’s World Championship, and at least eight national team that entered the top ten in Nur-Sultan, according to the results of the overall standings.
