UFC women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang (20-1) sure knows how to make lemonade from lemons.
The Chinese fighter is just a month away from her first title defense against the former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (16-3) at UFC 248 on March 7. Unfortunately for Zhang, she was forced to move her training camp from China due to the spreading of the coronavirus.
The 30-year-old Asian even got herself in an Instagram war with the Polish challenger who posted some unappropriate content about the people of China and the deadly disease.
It seems though, Zhang managed to get the best out of the situation and moved her camp to Thailand. Not only all her coaches came with her, but Zhang got in touch with the living muay thai legend Saenchai.
The pair did some training and sparring together, as we are sure the Thai fighter gave Zhang some pretty valuable lessons.
The 32-year-old Jędrzejczyk is considered to be the fighter with the greatest muay thai IQ in the whole UFC women’s divisions.
