Wrestling joins IOC in Sport Coalition for Refugees during Global Refugee Forum

United World Wrestling joined the International Olympic Committee in the Sport Coalition for the Refugees during the Global Refugee Forum held in Geneva.

UWW development director Deqa NIAMKEY attended a meeting in Geneva organized by the Swiss Ambassador at the UN to discuss further actions and collaborations between IOC, IFs, State of Vaud and Geneva along with UN entities.

There have been serious discussions on the role and opportunities the Leman region offers, since it’s the platform of International Federations, IOC and UN agencies.

The Swiss government’s role in providing funding and support to further pursue collaboration and projects between all stakeholders was also discussed.
