In the main event, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway faced Dustin Poirier for the UFC interim lightweight title. Poirier defeated Holloway via submission (mounted triangle armbar) at UFC 143 on Feb. 4, 2012 and now he won via unanimous decision after 5 hard rounds of battle.
Kelvin Gastelum squared off against undefeated Israel Adesanya for the UFC interim welterweight title in the co-main event, but came up short. Adesanya edged his opponent and captured the interim title. He will now have to face fellow fighter from Down Under – Robert Whittaker.
