Rafael dos Anjos (29-11) snapped his two-fight losing streak and defeated Kevin Lee (17-5) via 4th round Submission in the headliner of last night’s UFC Rochester. The fight marked the debut for Lee in the welterweight division, as previously he was fighting in the lightweight category.
The 34-years-old Brazilian’s cardio was the main reason he managed to get the W. The younger American started hot, landing some nice kicks and looking for the takedown, but eventually faded in the third and fourth rounds.
In the 4th period, the experienced former UFC lightweight champion landed some mean low kicks and thanks to his great defense he managed to capitalize on a failed takedown by Lee and seconds after that, “The Motown Phenom” was caught in an Arm-Triangle Choke, which he couldn’t escape.
