Breazeale: The ref stopped the fight too early (VIDEO)

American heavyweight Dominic Breazeale (20-2) suffered his second loss in the pro ring this last Saturday night when WBC champ Deontay Wilder (41-0-1) KO’d him in the opening round.

The 33-years-old Wilder landed one of the meanest right hands you’ll ever see in his adversary’s chin who collapsed to the floor immediately. Somehow “Trouble” managed to get up to his feet, but it was too late and he couldn’t beat the ten-count.

“I think the ref stopped it a little early because I could hear him saying seven and eight, but that’s boxing,” said Breazeale (via Bad Left Hook). “He did his job and kept us safe for our next fight.

“I got on my feet and had my legs under me. It’s the heavyweight division so there’s going to big shots from guys with power. This was a situation where he landed the big right hand before I did. I thought I was going to come on in the later rounds. I’ll be back and go for the heavyweight title again.”

When you see the video of the knockout, it’s pretty obvious that Breazeale was still touching the floor with one of his knees when Harvey Dock hit the count of ten.
