Japan withdraws from the World Wrestling Championships

Following the withdrawal of the USA National wrestling team from the upcoming World Wrestling Championship, now another big-time wrestling force has announced its decision to not participate at the event that is scheduled to take place in Belgrade, Serbia, this December.

The Japan Wrestling Federation has announced last week the decision to not send any wrestlers because of the second coronavirs wave that is hitting Europe nad the rest of the world.

The Japanese wrestlers will compete at the Emperor’s Cup that will take place at the same time that the World C’s are being held – from December 12-20.

There are rumors that Japan and the USA won’t be the only two countries that won’t be sending participants to the event. UWW will decide the fate of the competition on November 6 when an executive meeting will take place.
