Joseph Parker scores third round knockout vs Flores

Former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker said he wanted to be more aggressive coming into a bounce-back fight against Alexander Flores in New Zealand, and the 26-year-old contender showed that side of himself, scoring a third round knockout win at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch.

Parker (25-2, 19 KO) keeps himself in the mix among the top 10 heavyweights with the win, and will now look forward to 2019 and a potential rematch with Dillian Whyte. Whyte beat Parker on July 28 in London, with Parker nearly rallying to score a final round knockout win in that bout.

Whyte (24-1, 17 KO), of course, has business to take care of on Dec. 22, when he faces Dereck Chisora (29-8, 21 KO) in a rematch at O2 Arena. And if Whyte wins that fight, there’s a solid chance he gets a second shot at Anthony Joshua next April at Wembley Stadium, which would obviously be bigger than a second tussle with Parker.
