Leon Edwards defeates dos Anjos, UFC on ESPN 4 results

Britain’s Leon Edwards (18-3) has defeated Raphael dos Anjos (29-12) in the main event of UFC on ESPN 4 last night in San Antonio, US.

The 27-years-old Edwards dominated the Brazilian from the beginning to the very end of their bout, with the judges scoring 50-45, 49-46, 49-46 for a unanimous decision, as Edwards won his eighth consecutive fight.

Edwards managed to takedown Anjos early in the first round, doing a lot of damage on the ground and working his adversary the wat he wanted it. The reach advantage was on Leon’s side, as he did an outstanding job when both fighters got back on their feet, kicking and punching from distance. The bout could’ve been over in the second when Edwards opened a cut over dos Anjos’s eye, but the doctor checked in and cleared the 34-years-old to continue.

The last two rounds were also dominated by the Brit, who controlled every aspect of the fight – the distance fight, the close fight, and the grappling fight.
