The 32-year-old was supposed to make his debut in May against the Frenchman Carlos Takam, but the Ukrainian suffered an arm injury and the bout was postponed. Later it was announced that the clash will take place in late August or early September, but the latest news around Takam suggest a whole different story.
Former world heavyweight title challenger has signed a new managerial deal with Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing. Having that in mind, now it could be way tougher to negotiate the fight and there’s a big probability that Takam will be replaced.
Matchroom Boxing’s managing director Eddie Hearn is saying that there will be more news next week, as the only thing left to do for us is to wait.
