ONE Championship returns this July

ONE Championship is set to resume its 2020 flagship event schedule in a major way.

Just two days after ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced that the world’s largest martial arts organization will return with ONE: NO SURRENDER in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, 31 July, he revealed three of the card’s bouts on his official Facebook page.

In the headline attraction, ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon will defend his belt against a longtime foe and Thai compatriot Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee Academy in a trilogy bout.

The pair of star athletes had a heated Muay Thai rivalry at the world-famous Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok.

Petchdam – who is currently the #5-ranked contender in the division – originally defeated Rodtang via unanimous decision in May 2017. However, “The Iron Man” earned some redemption when he beat his countryman in a rematch via unanimous decision in February 2018.

Since then, Petchdam and Rodtang have joined the promotion’s all-striking branch, ONE Super Series, where each man has tasted World Title gold.

“The Baby Shark” switched sports and claimed the inaugural ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship in May 2019 before dropping the strap in his next bout. Meanwhile, “The Iron Man” defeated Jonathan “The General” Haggerty to win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title in August 2019 and has held the belt ever since.

At ONE: NO SURRENDER, Petchdam, and Rodtang will meet for the third time to determine who deserves to hold the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship.
