Report: Claressa Shields signs with PFL

The two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields has signed a contract with one of the best MMA organizations in the world – Professional Fighters League (PFL), per MMAJunkie.com.

Shields, 25, holds a 10-0 record in pro boxing, and it’s the current WBC and WBO light-middleweight women’s champion. PFL has yet to make an official statement on the matter, but sources close to the organization believe this will happen by the end of the week.

Shields shared her intentions to switch the ring for the octagon last year, as there were rumors she could sign with Dana White. The American will fight in the lightweight division, but she will not compete in the upcoming 2021 season.

She”ll continue her boxing career in 2021, as her last fight took place in January 2020, when she defeated Croatia’s Ivana Habazin.
