Said Nurmagomedov faces Raoni Barcelos at UFC Busan

Said Nurmagomedov and Raoni Barcelos are once again scheduled to meet inside the Octagon, and this time, it’s at the upcoming Fight Night show in South Korea.

Following a report by Ag. Fight, multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting.

UFC Busan takes place Dec. 21 at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.

A bantamweight contest between the two was originally announced for UFC 237 in May, but Nurmagomedov was pulled from the card with an injury. Barcelos has mentioned in the past that it wasn’t the first time Nurmagomedov had withdrawn from a fight against him.

In May, Barcelos (14-1) took on short-notice replacement Carlos Huachin in Rio de Janeiro and stopped the newcomer via second-round TKO. The former RFA featherweight champion is 3-0 with three finishes in the UFC, including a “Fight of the Night” bonus in his debut victory over Kurt Holobaugh at 145 pounds.

Nurmagomedov (13-1) hasn’t fought since a first-round knockout win over Ricardo Ramos in February, which marked his first appearance as a 135-pound fighter in the UFC. Nurmagomedov scored a split decision win over Justin Scoggins as a flyweight in his promotional debut in July 2018.

UFC Busan features the return of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung against Brian Ortega in a five-round featherweight main event.
