Ukraine cancles its Greco-Roman Championship

The National Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship of Ukraine has been canceled.

The event was scheduled to take place in early October in Odessa and currently, there is no information on when and if the event will be held.

The reason behind the cancellation of the championship is the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the finest Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestlers have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last few days, 2016 Olympic medalist Zhan Beleniuk being one of them.

Following the news, all of his training partners got tested and their test came back positive as well.
