WBC orders Breazeale – Whyte for the interim title

The WBC Board of Governors has voted unanimously to order an interim title fight between Dominic Breazeale (20-1-0) and Dillian Whyte (25-1-0).

The 33-year-old Breazeale is the number 1 contender for Deontay Wilder’s belt, but the “Bronze Bomber” is about to defend his title against Tyson Fury in the upcoming months.

Dillian Whyte, on the other hand, is the WBC silver heavyweight champion and he had three successful title defends in 2018.

The free negotiations period has begun and if there is no agreement between the parties, the WBC will conduct a purse bid in Mexico City headquarters on Tuesday, March 19.
