Winners of the Combat Sambo “Baikal Cup”

The 2019 International Combat Sambo tournament “Baikal Cup” was held on September 3 in Irkutsk, Russia. More than a hundred sambists from 15 countries took part in this year’s event, which was held at the “Turd” Sports Palace.

Sambists from Belarus, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan competed for the “Baikal Cup” in 9 weight categories.

This year’s tournament marked the three-year anniversary of the “Baikal Cup”. In 2018, 97 fighters participated, as Russian sambists claimed gold in 8 of the 9 categories. This time around, two Uzbekistan fighters took home the gold medals.
